Eddie Leon Pearson January 22, 1950 – September 15, 2025

Eddie Leon Pearson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family on September 15, 2025, in Beaumont, Texas.

Born January 22, 1950, in Texas City, Texas, Eddie was the son of Louis Callaway Pearson and Doris Janet Weathersbee Pearson. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and pursued higher education at McNeese State University and Sauk Valley College in Dixon, Illinois, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. He also attended the American Institute of Industrial Engineers and, later in life, followed his passion for ministry and videography through the College of Biblical Studies, Charis Bible College, and the College of the Mainland, where he earned an Associate Degree in Biblical Science and became an ordained minister.

Eddie was a proud member of the Association of Related Ministries International (A.R.M.I.) of South Texas and lived a life rooted in faith, purpose, and service.

He married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Marie Fruge, and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. They raised one daughter, Penny Pearson McMillen, and built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and family.

Professionally, Eddie had a long and accomplished career in the oil and gas industry, retiring from Oil State Hydro Tech Systems, Inc. After retirement, he found great joy working as a bus driver for Liberty ISD, where he formed meaningful friendships and especially loved driving his granddaughters and their classmates to school events. It was truly one of the highlights of his later years.

Eddie was a man of many talents and passions. He loved fishing, photography, art and graphic design, and volunteering in ministry and missionary work. Eddie’s primary ministry was called “Two or More Ministries”. He was very actively involved as an advocate for the book, “The New England Primer”. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family—especially watching his granddaughters perform on Friday nights with the Liberty High School Panther Band and Drill Team.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry Pearson, and his niece Natasha Pearson.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda Pearson; his daughter, Penny McMillen, and son-in-law, Jeff McMillen; and his beloved granddaughters, Grace Marie McMillen and Abby Lynn McMillen.

He is also survived by his siblings: Gwen Bormann and husband Dave, Patty Docken and husband Tony, Tammy Wagner and husband Jack, Robert Pearson, Roger Pearson.

As well as his aunt, Bobby Jean Hatch; cousin, Larry Cutbirth, and wife Christine; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas led by Kim Percival. A Celebration of Life service will follow on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Eastgate Church in Dayton, officiated by Pastor William Brocker.

Along with flowers, a donation can be made to “The New England Primer” book that Eddie was such a strong advocate for. His desire was to place a copy of this book in as many hands and hearts as possible.
