Floyd Edgar Jones, 87, of Conroe, died Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland, with services concluding thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Floyd was born August 8, 1927 in Mansfield, Louisiana, to parents; Isaac E. and Beulah L. Thurman Jones, a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in Conroe for the past 10 years. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during WW II and a retired logging truck driver. Floyd held memberships at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church as well as groundskeeper and the NRA as a life member. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, John Wayne movies, reading, puzzles, his dogs, and horses. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, son: Clifford “Isaac†Jones, and sister: Mary Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 66 years: Mary Jane Smith Jones of Conroe, daughter: Judy Babb and husband Paul of Conroe, son: Floyd C. Jones and wife Anita of Oklahoma, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
