Francis Marion Shanks

Francis Marion Shanks, 59, of Dayton, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the Linney Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. He was born October 31, 1951 in Dayton, to parents; Granville Marion and Margaret Bozeman Shanks, a former resident of Beaumont, and has resided in the Dayton area since 1966. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1970, a former welder, and Baptist by faith. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, riding horses and working cattle. Mr. Shanks was preceded in death by his brother: Richard E. Shanks. He is survived by his parents: Marion and Margaret Bozeman Shanks of Dayton, sons: Donnie and Eugene, daughters: Kimberly Ann and Sarah, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
