Frank E. Poncho Gonzales

Frank E. “Poncho” Gonzales, 64, of Dayton, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Frank was born July 24, 1948 in Bonus, to parents; Saturnino and Consuelo Smith Gonzales, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Dayton for the past 13 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and enjoyed collecting guns, mechanics, and electrical work. Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his parents, son: Shannon E. Gonzales, grandson: Nate Ladkins, brothers: Mike, Alfred, and Robert Gonzales, sister: Becky Burrow, and nephew: Johnny W. Gonzales. He is survived by his wife of 19 years: Mary Rollins Gonzales of Dayton, sons: Clint E. Gonzales of Houston and Johnny Mayo of Dayton, daughters: Mary Mayo of NC, Alice Ladkin of Dayton, Stella Mayo of LA, and Mona Cross of Baytown, sisters: Angie Martinez of Center, Bernice Villanueva of Alvin, Gladys Hunsley of Center, Janie Gonzales of Pearland, and Mary Crawford of Baycliff, brothers: Manuel Gonzales of Dayton, Louis Gonzales of Manvel, Sam Martinez of Pearland, Joe Martinez of Alice, and John Paul Martinez of CA, sisters-in-law: Lupe Gonzales of Eagle Lake, Lupe Guadalupe of Houston, and Delfina Gonzales of Eagle Lake, 21 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
