Frank E. “Poncho†Gonzales, 64, of Dayton, died Friday, January 25, 2013, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Frank was born July 24, 1948 in Bonus, to parents; Saturnino and Consuelo Smith Gonzales, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in Dayton for the past 13 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and enjoyed collecting guns, mechanics, and electrical work. Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his parents, son: Shannon E. Gonzales, grandson: Nate Ladkins, brothers: Mike, Alfred, and Robert Gonzales, sister: Becky Burrow, and nephew: Johnny W. Gonzales. He is survived by his wife of 19 years: Mary Rollins Gonzales of Dayton, sons: Clint E. Gonzales of Houston and Johnny Mayo of Dayton, daughters: Mary Mayo of NC, Alice Ladkin of Dayton, Stella Mayo of LA, and Mona Cross of Baytown, sisters: Angie Martinez of Center, Bernice Villanueva of Alvin, Gladys Hunsley of Center, Janie Gonzales of Pearland, and Mary Crawford of Baycliff, brothers: Manuel Gonzales of Dayton, Louis Gonzales of Manvel, Sam Martinez of Pearland, Joe Martinez of Alice, and John Paul Martinez of CA, sisters-in-law: Lupe Gonzales of Eagle Lake, Lupe Guadalupe of Houston, and Delfina Gonzales of Eagle Lake, 21 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
