James Edward Rains, Sr.

James Edward Rains, Sr., 77, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016, in Cleveland.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Linney Cemetery in Dayton, with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

James was born January 3, 1939 in Dayton, to parents; George O. and Wilma Rains, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton for the past three years. He was a graduate of the Dayton High school, and a retired truck driver. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and a cowboy at heart.

Mr. Rains was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter: Kim Fenner of Dayton, sister: Marie Cantrell of Baytown, grandchildren: Jacob Bederka and wife Emily and Derek Fenner, great-grandchildren: Landon, Zoi, Hannah, Logan, and A.J., numerous other relatives, and friends.
