James Mark "Jim" Murray

Jim was born to Roy and Edith Murray in McConnelsville, OH on August 17, 1937. He died on October 1, 2025. At the time of his death, Jim lived in Cleveland, TX with his wife Peggy Murray. Peggy loved and cared for Jim dearly until his passing. 

Jim was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Murray in 1990. Together, they had three sons. Tracy Murray and wife Rhonda from Wheelersburg, OH, Doug Murray and wife Teri from Victoria, TX and Scott Murray and wife Kelly from Flower Mound, TX. 

Jim is also survived by one brother, John Murray of The Plains, OH and Peggy’s children Lloyd Barcak and Andra Whittingslow from George West, TX who loved and respected Jim greatly. Jim and Peggy were married for 32 years and shared 18 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren together.

Jim worked in the industrial construction industry and retired from Gulf States Inc in Lake Jackson, TX in 1995. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved a good cigar on his back porch with his buddy Clifford Forrester. Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor, his corny one liners and his love for his family.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM in Clute, TX where Jim will be laid to rest at Restwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to New Age Hospice. www.newagehospice.com. 866-355-7913 office, 281-659-3086 cell.
