Jane Elizabeth Butler Allen, 86, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on November 20, 2025. She was born on June 26, 1939, in Rayburn, Texas, to Charles L. Butler and Becky Gibson Butler.
Jane made Dayton her home for the past 30 years, after previously living in Evergreen. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her warmth, humor, and the simple joys she cherished each day. She loved helping her daughter, Charlene, with her candle business and looked forward to going to work with her daily. Every morning at 10:00 a.m., Jane took her treasured break—savoring a cup of coffee and a Nutty Butty. When she returned home, she delighted in playing ball with her beloved dog, Loki.
Faith was an important part of Jane’s life. She watched church services on Facebook each week and enjoyed spending her quiet time scrolling through Facebook, keeping up with friends and family.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Wayne Allen; her son, David Wayne Vann; her grandson, Joe Michael Watson; and her siblings, James Harold Butler, Ivy Jo McAdams, St. John Butler, Marshel Edward Butler, Winford Daniel “Boss” Butler and Dennis Charles Butler.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Elizabeth Lee, and husband Darrin; her brother, Edward Butler; her grandchildren, Terra Jayne Bell and husband Ben, Stacy Elizabeth Konieczny and husband Dusty, and Rachel Smith and husband Bryan; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service celebrating Jane’s life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, with Brother Gray presiding.
Jane will be remembered for her kindness, her steady presence, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
