John Andrew Nicol

John A. “Jake” Nicol, 42, of Dayton, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013, at the Scholobohn Cemetery in Humble with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Jake was born February 20, 1971 in Houston, to parents; John L. and Connie J. Menning Nicol, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout his life. He was a graduate of the Tarkington High School class of 1990, a pipefitter by trade, and attended Grace Community Church. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing video games. Mr. Nicol was preceded in death by his father: John L. Nicol, mother: Connie J. Menning Nicol, and brothers: Ronald and Donald Nicol. He is survived by his sons: John A. Nicol, II, Jacob Nicol, and Jared Nicol, sisters: Tawnee Jowell and husband Stuart, Bonnie Dawken, and Lawnee Ara and husband Jamie, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
