John Henry Oliver

John Henry Oliver, 90, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Kingwood Medical Center.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Cleveland Memorial Park.

John was born September 4, 1926 in Cleveland, to parents; Charlie Oliver and Icey Oliver, and has been a lifelong resident of Cleveland. He was a veteran of the US Navy with service during WWII, a life member of the VFW Post #1839, and a retired truck driver. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tinkering.

Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley Jean Oliver; daughter: Nancy Helen Traxler, son: Herbert Traxler, brothers: Dee, Bob, Brooks and Bill Oliver, sisters: Lois Cupps and Dorothy Smith. He is survived by his companions: Happy and Biscuit, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
