John Kevin Martin was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on February 15, 1945 to parents, Bruce Martin and Edith Daley Martin. He passed away in Kingwood, Texas on July 7, 2026 at the age of 81. John graduated from Long Beach High School in Long Beach, Mississippi and he proudly served our country in the US Army. He spent two years in Fort Benning, Georgia and served many years at Fort Polk. John not only loved his country but he had a great love for his family. John will be greatly missed by everyone that loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Edith Martin; sister, Brenda Sessoms; brother, Wayne Martin. John is survived by his beloved children, Kevin Martin and wife Kay Lynn Martin, Michael Martin and wife Kari Martin, and daughter Kelly Haber; beloved brother, Donnie Martin and wife Billie Martin; beloved grandchildren, Lorrie Apgar and Stephen Ward, Amber Powell and Michael Powell, Brooke Martin, Chad Latham, Karagan Dowdy and Trevin Dowdy, Cody Haber and Annah Peppers; beloved great-grandchildren, Blyleigh Blevins, Braxton Alfred, Blaykelynn Latham, Braelyn Powell, Asher Powell, Collins Latham, Clyde Latham, Grayson Latham, Addilyn Dowdy, Benjamin Dowdy, Paislee Ward, Kimber Ward, Hadlynn Ward, Kelbee Haber, Kobe Haber, and Kayson Peppers. Along with numerous nieces and nephews that will cherish his memory forever. Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026 in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm with Dr. Walter Kahler officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the US Army.
