Joseph Franklin "Joe" Lowe, age 80, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Katy, Texas. Born on April 10, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas, Joe lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep devotion to family, and a steadfast commitment to his work and country.
Joe proudly served his nation as a combat veteran in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, from September 1966 to August 1968. His service was a defining chapter in his life—one he carried with honor, humility, and quiet pride throughout the years.
After his military service, Joe dedicated over 50 years to concrete engineering. He built a distinguished career at Baker Concrete in Houston, Texas, where he ultimately retired as District Manager. His leadership, dedication, and expertise left a lasting impression on colleagues and construction projects across the region.
At the heart of Joe’s life was his deep Christian faith. A devoted believer with unshakable trust in Jesus Christ, Joe prayed daily and lived out his beliefs with compassion, integrity, and strength. His faith guided him in every season of life and was a source of comfort to those around him.
Joe shared 56 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Joan Elizabeth (Manshack) Lowe. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and strong values. He was a proud and loving father to three daughters: Jennifer E. Reider and her husband Billy Ray Reider Jr., Jacquelin E. Michalak and her husband Kevin Michalak, and Jessica E. Harshaw and her husband Drew Harshaw.
Joe’s legacy lives on through his beloved grandchildren: Brandon Joseph Reider, Garrett James Reider, Kayla Elizabeth Reider, Connor Alan Michalak, Raelyn Estelle Michalak, Kloee Jewel Lowe, Kylee Grace Harshaw, and Kinslee Hazel Harshaw.
He was preceded in death by his father John James Lowe, mother Dorothy Elizabeth (Adams) Lowe, stepmother Jewel Lowe, sisters Veva Dale Lowe and Nancy Alta Lowe, and brother Johnny H. Lowe, along with Johnny’s wife Virginia Lowe.
Joe’s life was one of purpose—rooted in faith, enriched by family, and defined by service. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 303 E Crockett St. After the service, a funeral procession will travel to Big Sandy Cemetery, 9582 County Line Rd., for interment, which is expected to begin at approximately 1:15 PM.
