Kathleen "Kat" Marie Herring

Kathleen “Kat” Marie (Martin) Herring, a beloved sister, aunt, and cousin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Cleveland Healthcare Center in Cleveland, Texas, at the age of 73. Born in Houston, Texas on August 21, 1951, to Travis O. (Sr.) and Evelyn Marie Martin (both deceased), Kat lived a life filled with family and a love for the water. She also had a profound love for her cats.

Kat cherished her family above all else, and her presence brought joy to those around her. She possessed a spirited nature, particularly evident in her desire to always be at the center of attention at family gatherings. This playful independence reflected her vibrant personality.

She is survived by her sister, Carrie L. Boswell; brother-in-law, Doug Boswell, brothers, Travis O. (Jr.) Martin and Wayne Martin; and aunt Ruth (Martin) Potts. She will also be deeply missed by numerous cousins, nephews, and a niece.

A celebration of Kat’s life was held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the home of her cousin, Brenda (Martin) and Joel Colquitt in Coldspring, Texas, where family and friends gathered to remember her warm spirit and unwavering love.

Kat will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
