In Loving Memory of Kenneth "Wayne" Grimet
Kenneth "Wayne" Grimet, 58, of Kingwood, Texas, peacefully passed away on August 29, 2024. Born on November 15, 1965, in Channelview, Texas, Wayne was the cherished son of Clyde Grimet and Georgie Farr.
Wayne’s journey took him from Cleveland, Texas, where he previously lived, to Kingwood over the past year. A proud graduate of Good Shepherd School in Channelview (Class of 1985), Wayne carried his roots with pride and a spirit of resilience throughout his life. He was known for his tenacity and love for life's simple pleasures.
Wayne’s passion for fishing and his knack for tinkering with anything that needed fixing were among his greatest joys. His family will fondly remember him as a steadfast and loving father and grandfather, whose unique connection with children and fondness for cats revealed his gentle and caring nature.
An enthusiastic supporter of Texans football and an avid fan of old country music, Wayne embraced all genres with an open heart. His appreciation for music and life's simple joys were defining aspects of his character.
Wayne’s memory will be forever cherished by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and treasured memories. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kellie Broussard, and his brothers John Simons, Robert Simons, Dale Simons, and Tim Grimet. He is survived by his wife, Mechelle Grimet; his son Kenneth Ryan Grimet; his daughters Karman Broussard and fiancé Shawn Willard, and Brooke Grimet; his siblings Barney Grimet and Missy, Chris Grimet, Roy Grimet and Leslie, and Cindy Kellerbrew and husband Ronnie; and his grandchildren Alexsis, John, Kaydan, Hunter, Adalynn, and great-grandson Carson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Wayne’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas, at 4:00 p.m. May he rest in peace, forever remembered as a loving soul with a big heart.
