Kevin Wayne Glenn October 9, 1962 – May 1, 2025
Kevin Wayne Glenn, 62, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on May 1, 2025, in Houston.
Kevin was born October 9, 1962, in Houston to Jesse Glenn and Jewel Gilcrease. A graduate of C.E. King High School, Kevin lived a full and vibrant life rooted in faith, family, and fellowship. For the past 17 years, he made Baytown home, having previously lived in Channelview.
A bail bondsman by trade, Kevin was a dedicated member of Dayspring Church in Liberty. He was a man of deep values, known for his generous spirit, quick wit, and love for the simple joys in life—hunting, fishing, and especially cooking barbecue. Whether he was grilling for family, preparing meals for friends, or volunteering with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo cooking committee, Kevin brought people together with food and laughter.
A lifelong sports fan, Kevin loved cheering on his favorite college football teams—Alabama and the University of Texas—and never missed a chance to attend a Texans game. His friendly rivalry with longtime friend Ken Webster brought extra fun to sports seasons, marked by their tradition of $1 bets on events like the Final Four and the Super Bowl, with the winner proudly keeping the framed dollar until the next showdown.
Kevin especially cherished traveling with his beloved wife of 17 years, Tracey. Together, they explored places like Las Vegas, Yosemite, the central U.S., and 3 Rivers near the Sequoias—memories that became treasured chapters in their love story. But his favorite moments were always those spent surrounded by family, enjoying backyard cookouts and fish fries filled with warmth, laughter, and good food.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joyce High, nephew Jeff High, and sister-in-law Debbie Glenn.
He is survived by his wife Tracey; brothers Andy Glenn and wife Sandy, and Johnny Glenn and wife Laurinda; stepsons James Grorich and Benjamine Grorich; nephews Bucky Glenn, Bubba Glenn, Drew Glenn, Steven High, Brandon Glenn, and Cody Anderson; nieces Andrea Anderson, Kelli Sartin, Krista Anderson; and close friends Alvin Herndon and wife Daisie.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 1:00–2:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Pastor Andy Glenn will officiate.
Pallbearers include Alvin Herndon, Drew Glenn, Cody Anderson, Robert Anderson, Bubba Glenn, Johnny Glenn, and Damian Montgomery.
Kevin leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love—a man who lived fully, gave freely, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
