Lawrence “Darrell†Luke, 69, of Dayton, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Darrell was born June 21, 1944 in Beaumont, to parents; Lawrence J. Luke and Marvaline H. Watson, a former resident of Channelview, and has resided in Dayton for the past 18 years. He was a graduate of the Beaumont High School class of 1963, attended the Lamar University, and was a truck driver for Jetco Transportation of Houston. He was a member of the National Parks and Wildlife, the National Hunters Association, the N.R.A., and was a HAM radio operator. Darrell also enjoyed camping, hunting, wood working, playing golf, and mowing his lawn. Mr. Luke was preceded in death by his father: Lawrence J. Luke and mother: Marvaline H. Watson LaRocca. He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Betty Juneau Luke of Dayton, daughter: Kimberly Luke Shealy and husband Alan of Dayton, sons: Matthew M. Luke and wife Dena of Dayton, L. David Luke of California, and Chad A. Luke and wife Michelle of Dayton, sisters: Vivian, Diane, Linda, and Marian, brothers: Henry and Craig, grandchildren: Nikki Luke, Samantha Nunan, Amber Dowdy, Ronnie Jeane, Zachary Luke, Jordan Luke, Bailey Luke, Brint Luke, Jasmine Deams, Lane Luke, L. Gabe Luke, Torin Luke, and Alice Luke, great-grandchildren: Kaylee Patchett, Brooklyn Bishop, Alexis Maher, Kennedy Maher, Ely Nicholson, Brennan Nunan, Allysah Nunan, Parker Dowdy, and Ronnie Jeane, Jr., and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
