Obituary for Linda Sue Cantrell Bragg
Linda Sue Cantrell Bragg, 76, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025. Born on May 12, 1949, in Nitro, West Virginia, Linda was the beloved daughter of Burton Cantrell and Rose Mary Hanshaw.
A proud graduate of Saint Albans High School, Linda went on to dedicate her life to caring for others as a Nursing Assistant at Jan Francis Nursing Home, and later through home healthcare. Her nurturing spirit and strong work ethic were evident in everything she did.
In 1996, Linda moved from Oklahoma to Texas to be with the love of her life, her childhood sweetheart, Clifford Wayne Bragg. Married for nearly 29 years, their bond was unshakable, and the time they shared was the true joy of her life. Whether riding alongside Wayne in their classic cars—her beloved Camaro and his Chevelle—or simply spending time at car shows or together at home, Linda treasured every moment.
Linda had a passion for making her home beautiful. She was always redecorating and repainting, working tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming space. She loved to collect things—bears being her most recent hobby—and found joy in life’s little pleasures: scratch-off lottery tickets, browsing sweatshirts at Cracker Barrel, and sharing nachos at Iguana Joe’s.
She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply, loving them with all her heart. She was a truly wonderful mother. All of the kids had happy, carefree childhoods, filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She made sure every child knew just how deeply they were loved. Because of her, they never had to carry the weight of worry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Lisa Cantrell and Karen Cottrell, and her brothers Rick Cantrell and Mike Cantrell.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Clifford Wayne Bragg; her children Ryan Mullins, Stacie Browning (Jody),Eric Bragg (Deanna), Bobby Bragg (Cindy); her brothers Kevin Cantrell and Steve Cantrell (Kathy); her grandchildren Justin Browning, Jessica Reich (Brandon), Ludwina Boswell (Tony), Dylan Bragg (Alanna), Mykaela Bragg (Willie), Billy Brannon, Cody Brannon (Jody), Mandy Torres (Rudy), Amber Hall (Ryan), and Robby Bragg (Taylor); and her great-grandchildren Chasen Whitaker, Braxton Reich, Hunter Boswell, Prestin Miller, Clayton Brannon, Ava Gonzales, Tristan Gonzales, Aiden Burns, Raeleigh Burns, Everleigh Poston, Ledger Bragg, Walker Bragg, and Boston Bragg.
A visitation for Linda will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas, from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m.
Linda will be remembered for her boundless love, vibrant personality, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
