Lois E. Gassett McShan, 97, of Deer Park, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the White Oak Cemetery in Porter. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland. Lois was born February 3, 1915 in Porter, to parents; Walter and Ethel McCluskey Gassett, a former resident of Romayor, and has resided in the Deer Park area for the past 22 years. She was a graduate of the Humble High School, a homemaker, a former church librarian, and member of the First Baptist Church of Deer Park. She also enjoyed mission and youth camp activities, gardening, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and especially being a grandmother. Mrs. McShan was preceded in death by her husband: Hershell E. McShan, parents: Walter and Ethel McCluskey Gassett, son: Doyle Allen McShan, grandson: Cory McShan, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her son: Hugh McShan and wife Patricia of Baytown, daughter: Arlene Raye Murray and husband Dr. Dan Murray of Stephenville, six grandchildren: Tracy Woodley, Christopher McShan and wife Crystal, Brete McShan and wife Peggy, Tanya Phillips and husband Daniel, Shelly Childers and husband Charles, and Lynette Luckenbaugh, as well as twenty great-grandchildren, forty-one great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
