Lola Mae Rhodes was born in Liberty Co., Texas on December 22, 1947 to parents, Wallace William Holloway and Vera Beatrice Whitmire Holloway. She passed away in Shepherd, Texas on October 3, 2026 at the age of 78. Lola Mae loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting but family was most important to her. She was known by many as MeeMaw and she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many. She adored her husband Herman and enjoyed their 62 years of marriage. She adored their two children and she was proud of both of them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and she will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.W. and Vera Holloway; brothers-in law, Tommy Lathan, Henry Puckett, and Larry Anglin; nephew, Josh Rhodes. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Herman Rhodes; beloved son, Russell Rhodes and wife Heather; beloved daughter, Kelly Butler and husband Mike Syracuse; beloved sisters, Jean Puckett, Nona Lathan, Louise McAdams and husband Johnny, Jerrie Holloway, and Stacy Arnold and husband Bruce; beloved grandchildren, Taylor Rhodes and wife Chelsey, Victoria Green and husband Tyler, and Karly Wiggins and husband Jake; beloved great-grandchildren, Beau Green, Mackenzie Rhodes, Marybelle Rhodes, J.J. Green, and Gunner Green; beloved brothers-in-law, Jesse Rhodes, Norris Rhodes and wife Levhone, and Richard Rhodes and wife Carolyn; beloved sister-in-law, Karen Anglin; beloved nephews, Brian Lathan and wife Lori, Heath Arnold and wife Elishia, Mike Rhodes, and Cyrus Anglin and wife Becky; beloved nieces, Karen Williamson and husband Thomas, Lauri Nettles and husband T.J., Ashley Yeats and husband Nick, Pam Daniels and husband Russell, Lisa Mitchell and husband Darin, and Jessica Blair and husband Joe. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026 in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel from 12-2pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2pm with Pastor Chester Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be, Tyler Green, Heath Arnold, Brian Lathan, Garrett Williamson, Nick Yeats, and Dillon Dowdell.
