Lori Williams April 14, 1964 – May 2, 2025
Lori Williams, 61, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on May 2, 2025, in Baytown, Texas.
Lori was born April 14, 1964, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Marion and Juanita Herrington. A woman of fierce determination and quiet strength, Lori raised two children while putting herself through nursing school—a testament to her intelligence, resilience, and love for her family.
She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working in home health before spending ten years at Liberty Hospital. Her true calling was found in serving the elderly, where her compassion and gentle nature made a lasting impact on those in her care.
Lori called Dayton home for the past 17 years, after living in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. She was known for her sharp mind and hands-on skills—remodeling her home herself, handling electrical work, and even working on cars. She had a deep appreciation for simple joys, especially mornings spent with coffee and conversation at Kountry Kitchen.
Above all, Lori was a devoted mother, a loving wife, and a loyal friend. Her peanut butter fudge was legendary, and her quiet strength shaped the lives of those around her.
She is preceded in death by her father Marion Herrington, her son Christopher Heighton, her first husband Neil Heighton, her sister Sherri Herrington, son-in-law Dwayne Lee, and stepdaughter Holly Shields.
Lori is survived by her husband Michael Williams; her mother Juanita Herrington; her daughters Crystal Thibodaux and husband Gideon, and Ashley Heighton; her brother David Herrington and wife Cyndi; and her beloved grand-pups, MoMo and Dozer.
Lori’s legacy of strength, compassion, and fierce love for her family lives on in those who knew and loved her.
