Margaret Wylodean Hayes Guillory, 95, passed away on August 25, 2026. She was born on March 17, 1931, in Liberty, Texas, to Homer Beautin Hayes and Edna Agnes Brown Hayes.

Margaret, affectionately known as “Squeakie,” was a graduate of Liberty High School and a devoted woman of faith. A member of the Assembly of God faith, she dedicated much of her life to serving the Lord alongside her husband, Daniel Guillory. Together, they pastored churches throughout Texas and Louisiana, ministering to many communities over the years. Margaret loved being a pastor’s wife and serving alongside her husband. She was known as a prayer warrior whose faith was an important part of everything she did.

Music was another special part of Margaret’s life. She played both the piano and organ and was a gifted soloist with a beautiful singing voice. Whether through song, prayer, or simply the way she treated others, she shared her faith freely and lovingly.

Above all, Margaret treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and creating memories together. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed playing board games, although her family knew not to expect any special treatment—Squeakie never let anyone win, not even her grandchildren. Her competitive spirit made family game nights all the more memorable.

Margaret will also be remembered for the grace she extended to others. She did not hold grudges and believed in giving people grace, forgiveness, and another chance. Her kindness, strong faith, beautiful music, and love for her family leave a lasting legacy for those who knew and loved her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Beautin Hayes and Edna Agnes Brown Hayes; her beloved husband, Daniel Guillory; her daughter, Mary Jo Guillory; her sisters, Dorothy, Emogene, Baby Sister, Tippy, Tiny, and Nancy; and her brother, J.B. Hayes.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Gray and husband Lewis, and Danna Franks and husband Mark; her sister, Christine Sharp; her grandchildren, Paula Moore and husband Eric, Amy Traynor and husband Jeremy, Dessa Jones and husband Andrew, Emily Turnage and husband John, and Jonathan Franks; and her great-grandchildren, Braden, Breslynn, Rebecca, Abby, Emberlyn, Parker, Jackson, Joshua, Madison, and Katelyn. She also leaves behind numerous other family members, friends, and members of the church communities whose lives she touched throughout her many years of ministry.

A visitation for Margaret will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Her funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Mack Praytor officiating. Burial will follow at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Moore, Jeremy Traynor, Andrew Jones, Braden Moore, John Turnage, and Braylon Ezerneck. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Franks, Joshua Turnage, Parker Jones, and Jackson Jones.

Margaret’s 95 years were filled with faith, family, music, ministry, and love. Her family will carry forward the lessons she taught them through her prayers, her grace toward others, and the joy she found in simply being together.
