Marlene Ann Landry Griffin, 79, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. Marlene was born on August 11, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents Merlin Landry and Marcelle Simoneaux Landry.

Marlene made Dayton her home for the past 40 years, after previously living in Crosby and New Orleans. She was married to her late husband, Phillip Dwayne Griffin, for more than 50 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Marlene had a zest for life and a warm, generous spirit. She loved taking casino trips back to Louisiana, watching her New Orleans Saints, shopping on QVC, and enjoying seafood—especially family crawfish boils that brought everyone together. She was known for her friendly nature and had many dear friends who cherished her companionship.

Above all, Marlene loved her family deeply. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy and countless treasured memories.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Merlin and Marcelle Landry, and her husband, Phillip Griffin.
