Mary Jo Ayers

Mary Jo Ayers passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 surrounded by loving her family. Mary Jo worked for 32 years as the secretary to the Special Education Director for the Liberty County Co-Op. After retirement she and her husband of 63 years lived happily on their land in Tarkington.

She and her husband Earl also loved to fish and spent many weekends on Lake Livingston catching fish and enjoying the outdoors. Many weekends were spent at the camp house in Onalaska creating lifelong memories.

Her family was her life and after losing her son Joe and her daughter Ann she made sure that the rest of her family knew they were loved and cherished. She loved sharing anything she could about her grandkids and was so proud of all of them. She was blessed with not only grandkids but great and great-great grandkids. The walls of her house were covered in family portraits and every year at Christmas she would cover the bed with homemade gifts for everyone.
