Mary Miller, 86, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026. Born on September 23, 1939, to Amos and Polly Miller, Mary lived a life rooted in faith, love, service, and devotion to her family and friends. She was married to her beloved husband, Paul, for 70 years.
Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating memories they will treasure for years to come.
A faithful member of her church, Mary's deep faith guided her life and inspired her compassion, kindness, and servant's heart. She enjoyed golf tremendously, traveling with her husband, Paul, playing courses in more than 20 states. She treasured many years of playing Bridge and Euchre with friends. One of her greatest joys was cooking, most importantly making desserts, for which she will be fondly remembered.
Mary gave generously of her time to her community, volunteering for many years at the Coldspring Library and serving on both the Cape Royale Civic Association Board and the Cape Royale Ladies Golf Association Board for nearly two decades. She also worked alongside Paul as secretary of their family business until their retirement.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Miller; her children, Patti Stephenson and husband Fred, Tim Miller and wife Cyndy, Jim Miller and wife Martha, and Tom Miller and wife Ivy; her grandchildren, Jordan Stephenson and wife Regan, Cassandra Franks and husband Blake, Blake Miller and wife Jenna, Landon Miller, James Miller and wife Krystal, and Joshua Miller and wife Cambrey; her great-grandchildren, Connor, Kaylee, Brooke, Josie, Brayden, Caysen, Madelyn, Austyn, and Kaidyn; her sisters, Esther Kuhn and Ida Walters; her brother, Enos Miller; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Polly Miller; her brothers, Joe Miller, Noah Miller, Roy Miller and Harvey Miller; and her great-grandson, Colton Miller.
Mary will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her. Her legacy will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Reliant At Home Hospice Care and Seasons Conroe for their love and care of Mary over the last few months.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary's honor to CASA of Walker County, supporting children in need through advocacy and care.
