Mary Alice Rhoden

Mary Alice Rhoden, age 67, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on March 9, 1959, in Bay Minette, Alabama, to her mother, Margaret Paullete Weaver Allen, and her father, Bobby Frank Stanley of Meridian, Mississippi. Though her life carried her many places, her roots and the love of her family in Mississippi always remained a meaningful part of who she was.

Mary Alice was a proud graduate of Dayton High School, Class of 1977. She went on to dedicate many years to Dayton Transportation, where she faithfully worked until her retirement in 2021. She often spoke of how much she loved her job, and it was evident in the pride she took in her work and the relationships she built along the way.

Above all else, Mary Alice was a beloved Mawmaw. That was her greatest title and her greatest joy. She loved her family with her whole heart and had a way of making everyone feel safe, seen, and deeply loved. Her home, her voice, and her presence were a place of comfort. She had a laugh that could fill a room and a spirit that could lift even the heaviest hearts. If you ever needed a moment of peace, you could find her with a cup of coffee in hand, watching her hummingbirds, content in the simple beauty of life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Frank Stanley, and her great-grandson, Grayson Cole.

She leaves behind a family who loved her beyond measure: her mother, Margaret Paullete Weaver Allen; her brother, Gene Stanley and wife Kim Stanley of Beach City, Texas; her daughter, Randi Honey of Dayton, Texas; her son, Richard Wayne Rhoden Jr. and wife Shandala Rhoden of Hardin, Texas; her grandchildren, Bailey Jones and husband Isaiah Jones of Geismar, Louisiana, Davran Honey and husband Harley Blalock of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jocelyn Armstrong of Dayton, Texas, Levi Rhoden of Hardin, Texas, and Jadalyn Armstrong of Dayton, Texas; and her great-grandchildren, Ezra, Miles, Sawyer, and Holden.

She is also lovingly remembered by her extended family in Mississippi, who held a special place in her heart and shared in a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love.

While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in God’s promises. As it is written in John 14:2-3, “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” We hold onto the peace in knowing she is now resting, made whole, and reunited with those who went before her.

And in the words of 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Mary Alice lived a life full of love, strength, and devotion, and her legacy will continue through each of us.

There are not enough words to capture a life so full or a love so deep. Though we are left with an ache that cannot be filled, we are also left with something beautiful… the countless memories she gave us, the laughter we will never forget, and the love that will never leave us.

Mary Alice Rhoden was more than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother… she was the heart of her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
