Mary "Joyce" Davis Richey

September 7, 1943 – May 15, 2025

Mary “Joyce” Davis Richey passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025. Until the very end, Joyce maintained her deep love for her family and friends, her yard and beloved plants, and the companionship of her faithful dog, Peaches.

Joyce was born on September 7, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur J. Davis and Mary Madalene Johnson Rosier.

She is survived by her children: Pug Richey and wife Tammy Richey, and Jodie Richey; her grandchildren: Hunter Richey and wife Rebekah Richey, Haze Richey, Harlie Richey, and Bodie Jones; and her greatest blessings, her great-grandchildren: Hudson Richey, Carson Richey, Stetson “Acie” Richey, and Harper Richey.

Joyce was known for telling it like it was—if you didn’t want the truth, you probably shouldn’t have asked, because she was going to tell you anyway. She worked for many years in Cleveland, Texas at the Liberty Café, and later joined Sysco, Inc. With her natural gift of gab, she sold vehicles for Cessna Motors before finding her final role escorting wide loads across Texas with JR Escorts.

Joyce loved to travel, and her adventures were made even more special by her loyal dog, Max.

After retiring, she turned her full attention to her home and her cherished yard. Whether tending her roses or dreaming of fishing at Golden Pond, she found joy in the simple things—especially if Peaches, her dog, was by her side.

Joyce’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Felps Cemetery in Thicket, Texas. All friends and family are welcome to attend, the services are being officiated by Bro. Troy Moore, of the Cleveland Cowboy Church were Joyce attended.
