Milton Bruce Crumpler

Milton Bruce Crumpler, age 78, of Dayton, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. He was born on November 19, 1947, in Liberty, Texas, to Bruce Crumpler and Jewel Mae Robinson.

Milton was raised in Dayton and was a longtime member of First Methodist Church. He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1971, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Following graduation, he began his career with General Crude Oil Company, where he gained valuable experience before later dedicating many years of hard work and commitment to Mitchell Energy in The Woodlands, from which he retired.

The greatest joy of Milton’s life was his family—especially his sons, who were truly his world. He was deeply involved in their lives and activities, never missing an opportunity to support and encourage them. Whether serving on the swim team board as a scorekeeper or coaching Little League football, baseball, and basketball, Milton was always present and proud. He could often be seen videoing games and practices, making sure no moment went undocumented.

A true car enthusiast, Milton had a lifelong love for anything with an engine and wheels. In his younger years, he especially enjoyed riding his jet boat, embracing the thrill and freedom it brought. He also enjoyed playing racquetball and golf and found peace in yardwork and landscaping, taking great pride in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.

One of Milton’s favorite traditions when his sons were young was spontaneously taking them to Astroworld using their season tickets—something he affectionately called “a guy thing,” a special bond he shared with them and memories that will be treasured forever.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Crumpler and Jewel Mae Robinson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sandra Crumpler; his sons, Chris Crumpler and wife Mandy, and Matt Crumpler and fiancé Sarah; his sister, Cindy LeBlanc and husband Erwin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, also at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Milton will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady presence, and the quiet ways he showed love every day. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
