Misty Kay Robinson, 50, passed away on February 16, 2026, at her home in Dayton, surrounded by friends and family. She was born on September 19, 1975, in Houston to George Terrance Smith and Deborah Kay Bass. Misty called Dayton her home for over 40 years.
As a teenager, she began dating the love of her life, Dustin, beginning a beautiful love story that spanned 34 years together and 27 years of marriage. Their life together was a testament of deep devotion, friendship, and unwavering partnership.
As a faithful member of Old River Assembly of God Church, Misty was especially active on the missions team, serving with a joyful heart and willing hands. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived by the motto, “You can experience everything good that life has to offer without sinning”. She embraced that belief daily, modeling a life of grace, strength, and deep love for the Lord.
Misty had a passion for traveling the world on vacations and missions trips. She poured her time, energy, and creativity into her daughters’ homeschool education and upbringing, treasuring the moments spent learning and growing together. Her love language was quality time and acts of service—she showed her love not only in words, but in the countless ways she cared for and supported those around her. Known for her big laugh and vibrant spirit, Misty brought life to every room she entered. She was truly the “manager” of her family, keeping everyone connected and cared for. She loved life, and did life well.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Terrance Smith; her Nana, Katheryn Bass; her mother-in-law, Diane Robinson; and her aunt, Sherree Windham. Misty is survived by her beloved husband, Dustin Robinson; her daughters, Hallie Robinson, Kayla Shoemake and husband Walker; her mother, Deborah Smith; her brother, George Paul Smith; her father-in-law, Ronnie Robinson; sister-in-law, Michelle Williams and husband Mike Williams; Ashley Webb and husband Jason Webb; nephews; Ryan, Chris, and Caleb; Nieces; Madison, Danie, and Addilynn; as well as numerous extended family members and many, many dear friends.
Misty’s legacy of faith, laughter, love, and steadfast devotion to her family will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
