Oscar Jewell Taylor of Huntsville, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the age of 76. He was born January 6, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas to parents Fred and Athalena Taylor both of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death is his son, David Taylor, granddaughter Shyanne Taylor, great-grandsons David Taylor and Sylvester Renfro; brothers Baby Taylor, Robert Taylor, Eugene Taylor, Lee Taylor and Frank Taylor. Oscar is survived by his wife Barbara Taylor; children Allen Taylor and wife Kelly, Rocky Taylor and wife Samantha, Helen Renfro and husband Sylvester; grandchildren D.J. Taylor, Shelby Fulcher, Rocky Taylor II, Aden Taylor, Allen Taylor II, Shaun Taylor, Brian Taylor, Katelyn Taylor, Sylvester Renfro IV, Sylvia Renfro, Natalie Leslie, Andy Nguyen, Kristi Nguyen; sisters Ruby Miller, Ethel Duncan, Louise, Frances Dotson, Brenda McGee; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
While living in Houston, Oscar worked closely with the Houston Police Department – Narcotics Division. He also had a giving heart and at Christmas time he was known to buy toys for children whose parents couldn’t afford it at the time. Oscar will be missed by those who loved him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 5pm – 8pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 11am at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment immediately following at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens in Cleveland, Texas. Pallbearers for the service will be Rocky Taylor II, D.J. Taylor, Allen Taylor II, Brian Taylor, Eric Gray, James Elam II, James Elam.
