Patrick Lawrence Malone, Sr. departed from this life to his heavenly homecoming on March 27, 2026, in College Station, Texas. Pat was born on July 17, 1943, in El Paso, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Wilson-Malone, married July 21, 2010, in Liberty County; his children, Patrick Malone, Jr. and wife Angela and daughter Patricia Kellie Malone; his two grandchildren, Foster Malone and wife Maggie of Fort Worth and Caroline Lillie Malone of Dallas; his children’s mother, Sandra Toler Malone. He is preceded in death by his parents William Patrick Malone of Tullamore, Ireland and Gwendolyn Dolezal Malone of El Paso, Texas.
Pat’s father, “Big Pat,” was deployed as a member of Patton’s Third Army in WWII’s European Theater of Operation at the time of Pat’s birth, and the two did not meet until Pat was approximately two years old. His mother, Gwen, often shared how dapper young Pat looked as he met his father for the first time wearing a sailor’s outfit, despite Big Pat being an “Army Man.”
Pat graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, Texas, having earned a DECA scholarship to attend the University of Houston. In earning this opportunity, Pat became the first in his family to attend college.
After graduation, Pat served as the Director of the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce until 1967. Pat then began his career in banking at Trinity Valley Savings & Loan. His work within the Savings & Loan industry led to his joining the Texas Savings & Loan League in Austin, Texas beginning in 1978. In 1988, Pat began his career with Pace-Stancil Funeral Home where he later retired.
Throughout his life, Pat loved to travel. His vacations with his children and their mother included Mexico City and the mountains of Colorado, to Southern California, Hawaii, New York City, and Washington DC. In 2008, Pat met his wife Roxanne, and after retiring in 2015, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they enjoyed cruising to Alaska, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean.
Pat deeply loved his wife and family and was committed to his faith in Jesus Christ. As an active member of several churches, he taught many Bible studies and Sunday School classes while constantly continuing to learn more from and about the Bible. He will be dearly missed, especially his humor, wit, and his warmth, but his family rejoices in the blessings of his heavenly reunion with his Lord and Savior, as well as those family and dear friends who wait on the other side of heaven.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents (Peter and Dewey Dolezal), uncles (Freddie Dolezal, Lawrence Dolezal, and Paul Dolezal), and aunt (Lily Mae Lewis).
Funeral services will be held at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, with visitation starting at 1 p.m. and services beginning at 2 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens in Cleveland, Texas.
