Obituary

Patsy Nell Luman, lovingly known as “Maw,” passed away on April 28,2026. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 9, 1935, to John and Lottie Rhoads.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 65 years, Dewey Luman; her daughter, Glenda Luman; her grandson, Samuel Keen; her granddaughter, Meghan Stein; and great-grandson, Dustin Galan.

She leaves behind a large and loving family: her sons, Larry and wife Vickie, Bobby and wife Gayle, and Stephen; her daughters, Sharon and husband Kim, and Nancy and husband Craig; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

Patsy was a hard worker and dedicated 27 years of her life as a cafeteria manager. Outside of work, she was known for the love she poured into everything she did. Her peanut brittle and peanut butter cookies were favorites among family and friends, and her handmade quilts became treasured gifts—each one stitched with care and given freely to those she loved.

In her later years, Patsy enjoyed looking at old pictures of memories from the past. She especially loved sitting on her porch enjoying the sunshine daily.

Above all, Patsy loved her family. She adored her children & grandchildrenShe always put her family first, loving them deeply and unconditionally.

To everyone who knew her, she was simply “Maw”—a caregiver, a steady presence, and a source of comfort. One of her favorite sayings was, “Don’t worry about me,” or "I'm OK, even when she was NOT ok. - a reflection of her selfless spirit and her constant concern for others.

Her absence will be deeply felt, and her love will be remembered always.
