Obituary

Perry Lee Post, 77, of Tarkington Prairie, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2026. He was born on January 7, 1949, at William Beaumont Hospital at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, to Lois Mae Waggoner Post and George Madison Post.

Perry attended Sam Houston High School and went on to enjoy two successful careers, first with Daniel Industries and later with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, retiring from both.

When his father was deployed overseas, Perry and his mother lived with his grandparents in Arkansas, a place he would always consider home. It was there that his lifelong love for horses, hunting, and fishing began.

Perry was a man of many talents who could fix just about anything, often with little more than determination, baling wire, and a roll of duct tape. He possessed a sharp sense of humor, a generous heart, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.

In 1972, Perry met Mary, the love of his life. They married in 1974 and welcomed their daughter, Christina Lee Post Fisher, in 1976. Perry took immense pride in his daughter and granddaughter, Kaylea, who brought him immeasurable happiness throughout his life.

Perry also lovingly embraced Teresa Kaye Jeane Edwards as family, along with Christopher and Jacquelyn, and Jacquelyn’s children, Lexi, Kate, and Brody. Each held a special place in his heart and shared in the love, laughter, and memories that made his life so meaningful.

Perry was a proud and dedicated member of the Melrose Masonic Lodge and would have celebrated 40 years of membership in 2027.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Mae Waggoner Post and George Madison Post, and his brother, Bobby Duane Post.

Perry is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his daughter, Christina Lee Post Fisher; and his granddaughter, Kaylea. He also leaves behind those he lovingly welcomed into his family: Teresa Kaye Jeane Edwards, Christopher, Jacquelyn, Lexi, Kate, and Brody.

Perry will be remembered for his generous spirit, quiet strength, quick wit, and the warmth he brought to the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friendships he treasured, and the countless memories he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Caring Hearts Ministries at First Methodist Church, 100 N. William Barnett Avenue, Cleveland, Texas 77327.
