Phylis E. Simmons Gridley, 47, of Dayton, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the Liberty Church of Christ in Liberty. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Phylis was born March 6, 1966 in Houston, to parents; Mack P. and Helen M. Brannon Simmons, a former resident of Deer Park, and has resided in Dayton for the past year and a half. She was a graduate of the Deer Park High School class of 1984, a former cashier, and member of the Liberty Church of Christ. She also enjoyed photography and will be remembered as a happy and kind person to all. Mrs. Gridley was preceded in death by her father: Mack P. Simmons, mother: Helen M. Brannon Simmons, and father-in-law: Albert W. Gridley, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 26 years: Albert W. Gridley, Jr. of Dayton, sister: Joan Carpenter Butler and husband Frank of Orange, brother: Paul W. Simmons of Houston, mother-in-law: Roberta Godby and husband Russell of Goodrich, sisters-in-law: Laurie Kirsch and husband Rudy of Dayton and Lisa Perryman and husband Bobby of Goodrich, brothers-in-law: Jake Gridley and wife Crystal of Pasadena and Benjamin Gridley and wife Cathy of Porter, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
