Ralph “Glenn” Gilmore, 75, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at his residence.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home of Dayton.
Glenn was born October 5, 1941 in Houston, to parents; Carl E. and Effie M. Gillen Gilmore, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in Dayton since the 80’s. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during Vietnam Era stationed in Alaska, a former HL&P employee and a retired Continental Airlines mechanic. He also enjoyed fishing and tinkering.
Mr. Gilmore was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Earl Leonard "Sonny" Gilmore. He is survived by his wife of 29 years: Joyce Tanner Gilmore of Dayton, son: Glenn E. Gilmore and companion Chelsey of Dayton, daughters: Vivian L. Hoffman and husband Michael of Freeport and Tanya Jenkins and husband David of Liberty, brother: Joe Gilmore and wife Elsie of The Woodlands, grandchildren: Cody Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, Halie Jenkins, Kylie Frazier, and Madilyn Gilmore, great-granddaughters: Ryleigh Fregia and Raegan Fregia, his beloved companion Chico, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
