Rhon Alison Ash

Rhon Ash, 58, of Dayton passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 in the Woodlands.

Memorial Service will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon before the service.

Rhon was born February 11, 1959 in Dayton, Texas to parents, James Alfred Ash and Lenita Faye Graves Ash. A lifelong resident of Dayton, Rhon was a member of the 1977 graduating class of Dayton High School. Rhon continued his education at Louisiana Tech and returned home to pursue his love of farming which he started when he was eight years old. He farmed with his Dad and brother Buster until 1994. Rhon was currently general manager of Calhoun’s Country Store and W.D. Miller, Inc.

A true family man, Rhon loved being with his family. He was well known for his delicious meals he would prepare for all the family and his friends. Rhon enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all he looked forward to his annual hunting trip to Colorado. He was a wonderful man who touched many hearts and will be missed by all that knew him.

Rhon was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda Miller Ash of Dayton; daughters, Megan Miller Massengale and husband Jacob of Mont Belvieu and Molly Elizabeth Ash of Dayton; son, Rhon William Ash of The Woodlands; sister, Roxie Ash Jordan of Ruston, Louisiana; brother, James “Buster” Alfred Ash and wife Linda of Houston; his wonderful mother-in-law, Norene Miller of Liberty; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
