Obituary

Robert Wayne Fuller, 65, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2026.

Robert was born on July 18, 1961, to Rayford Wayne Fuller and Bonnie Dean Story. A resident of Dayton for 40 years, Robert built a life centered around hard work, family, friendship, and enjoying the simple things that brought him happiness.

Throughout his career, Robert was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to go wherever the job took him. He worked for S&B Construction for more than 20 years and also worked with Troy Pipeline and United Rentals as a salesman. Robert later worked as a pipeline inspector, a career that took him throughout South Texas, New Mexico, West Virginia, Mississippi, and other areas. His travels gave him the opportunity to meet people from many different places, something that came naturally to a man who never met a stranger.

Robert was friendly and outgoing and genuinely enjoyed getting to know people. During his travels, he especially enjoyed making new friends at the RV camps where he stayed. Whether he had known someone for years or had just met them, Robert had a way of making conversation and forming friendships wherever he went.

When he wasn't working, Robert enjoyed being outdoors. Fishing, hunting, and sitting around a fire were some of his favorite ways to spend his time. He also enjoyed barbecuing and taking on projects around the house. He was always happiest when he could stay busy, spend time outside, or simply enjoy the company of those around him.

Above all else, Robert loved his family. His children and grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and the time he shared with them meant more to him than anything. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose friendly nature and love for his family will be deeply missed.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford Wayne Fuller and Bonnie Dean Story.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of almost 41 years, Dena Fuller; his son, Trevor Fuller and wife Kaity; his daughter, Shyanne Privett and husband Matt; his sisters, Brenda Dickens and husband Benny, and Susan Payne and husband Rich; his grandchildren, Jaylin Babin, Kylee Thornton, and Ryder Privett; along with numerous extended family members, friends, and all those whose lives he touched throughout the years.

A visitation for Robert will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with Pastor Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Damascus Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trevor Fuller, Matt Privett, Garret Peck, Dallas Rausin, Randy Jackson, Todd Cannon, and Mike Cupp.

Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Dickens, Ryder Privett, and Terry Whitmire.
