Roger Dale Simons, Sr.

Roger Dale Simons, Sr., 62, of Huffman, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with graveside services at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Centerville Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Roger was born January 31, 1949 in Houston, to parents; Clifford Simons and Georgia Neal Farr, a former resident of Mt. Belvieu, and has resided in the Huffman area for the past three years. He was a graduate of the Northshore High School class of 1968, attended San Jacinto Community College, a retired furnace technician, and was a member of the Northshore Masonic Lodge #1353. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, his work, and especially spending time with his family. Mr. Simons was preceded in death by his father: Clifford Simons, mother: Georgia Farr Grimet, grandson: Cayden Fry, sister: Lori Simons, and brothers: Kenny, Robert, and John Simons. He is survived by his wife: Shirley A. Potter Simons of Humble, daughters: Keli Thames and husband Robert of Dayton, Kim Harrison and husband Eddie of Huffman, and Laci Simons of Humble, sons: Roger Dale Simons, Jr. and wife Betty A. of Dayton and Cody Allen Fry and wife Lorry of Nacogdoches, sisters: Tanya Siarski of Houston and Cindy Kellebrew of Houston, brothers: Scott Simons of Houston, Roy Grimet of Spring, Steve Simons of Schulenburg, Chris Grimet of Houston, Wayne Grimet of Houston, Eugene Grimet of FL, and Tim Grimet of Houston, grandchildren: Kristin, Taylor, Presli, Morgan, Lauren, Layn, Kimber, Collin, Aniston, and Paxton, great-grandchildren: Trae, Gracelyn, and Arryn, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
