Ronald Lee Guinn, 67, passed away, November 29, 2025 in Dayton, Texas. Born on February 9, 1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Harvie Lee Guinn and Nancy Irene Orsak.
Ronald grew up with a strong spirit, a mischievous streak, and a love for the simple joys of life. A resident of Dayton for 35 years, formerly of Corpus Christi, Ronald built a life rooted in hard work, family, and faith. He was a member of New Work Family Worship Center in Liberty, where he enjoyed fellowship and community. For much of his life, Ronald rebuilt and restored mobile homes—work that reflected both his craftsmanship and his ability to breathe new life into whatever he touched. He also enjoyed his occupation as a truck driver for many years. Ronald had a deep love for the outdoors. He was happiest hunting, fishing off the Gulf, or spear-fishing in the waters of Corpus Christi. He enjoyed sweet tea, Shiner Bock, and time spent with friends. Known for his playful nature, he took pride in agitating those he loved, always managing to bring a smile—or an eye-roll—to those around him. He loved tinkering with cars and trucks, and his creativity shone through in his leatherwork, carpentry, and the endless projects he took on as the family handyman.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Harvie and Nancy Guinn, and his sisters Pamela Mills and Patricia Griffin. He is survived by his wife, Essie Guinn, and by his children: his son Derek Guinn and wife Emily; his daughters Tonya Gangluff and husband Paul, and Beverly Guinn and husband Jose Mireles. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Terry Griffin; his grandchildren James, Alexis, and Lane; nephews Brandon Davis, Michael Mills, Joshua Mills, and Keegan Griffin; nieces Fravella Davis, Ashley Davis, and Tiffanie Mills; and numerous other family members and friends who will carry his memory forward.
Ronald shared 32 years of marriage with Essie Guinn, a partnership that shaped many chapters of his life.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, Texas. All who knew and loved Ronald arewelcome to attend and celebrate a life lived boldly, humorously, and with a generous heart.
May he rest in peace.
