Ronald Scott Ruby

Ronald S. “Ron” Ruby, 41, of Channelview, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ron was born December 13, 1971 in Houston, to parents; Joseph A. and Lillian M. Shannon Ruby, and has been a lifelong resident of the Channelview area. He was a graduate of the Channelview High School class of 1990, a veteran of the US Navy, and a turbine mechanic for many companies including; Sulzer-Hickham, Alstom, and Mepco. He also enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, and welding. Mr. Ruby was preceded in death by his uncle Jeffrey Ruby. He is survived by his wife: Leah Seward Ruby of NV, daughter: Karen Ruby Webb and husband Kenneth of Houston, son: Austin A. Ruby of LaPorte, stepsons: Danny and Clay Turrentine of NV, parents: Joseph A. and Lillian M. Shannon Ruby of Channelview, brothers: Jimmy Lee Shannon and wife Tammy of Liberty and Anthony A. Ruby and wife Stephanie of Channelview, grandfather: Winfred E. Wicker of VA, aunts: Kathleen Wicker and Nancy L. Murray, uncles: Raymond D. Eichel and wife Cheryl and James P. Ruby, an numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
