Roy Hicks

Roy Hicks, 79, of Newton, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at the Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of smith Funeral Home in Newton. Roy was born November 19, 1934 in Baytown, to parents; Austin and Helen Hicks, and has resided in Newton for the past 25 years. He was a retired pastor and evangelist. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Austin Hicks, earl Hicks, and George Edward Hicks. He is survived by his wife: Margie Hicks of Newton, son: Aaron Hicks and wife Nicole of Newton, daughters: Charlotte Kilpatrick and husband H. W. of Foshee, Tambra Kay Hicks of Baytown, and Phyllis Gay Hicks of Baytown, brother: Gene Hicks of Crosby, grandchildren: Elijah Musquiz, Cody, Courtland, and Geneva Kilpatrick, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
