Rufus Elwin Whisenant

Rufus Elwin Whisenant, age 77 and a resident of Cleveland, Texas, passed away. He was born in Hubbard, Texas to parents W.N. Whisenant and Nannie Whisenant who preceded him in death along with his brother James W. Whisenant. Mr. Whisenant was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army from April, 1955 – April 1963; and a Petroleum Engineer by trade. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Survivors include his children Stacey and Steve McKee, Chris and Mary Whisenant, and Brian and Mary Whisenant; grandchildren Catherine, Elizabeth and Andrew Borin, Derrick and Emily Whisenant, and Brandon, Jalce and Cassidy Whisenant; numerous other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, Texas. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Coldspring United Methodist Church.
