Ruth Leona Woods

Ruth Leona Woods was born in Huffsmith, Texas on March 7, 1930 to parents, Terry Monroe Hicks Sr and Amy Eva Parker Hicks. She passed away May 13, 2025 in League City, Texas at the age of 95 years. Ruth was a Eastern Star Chapter 465 member in Cleveland, Texas. She was a cosmetologist, as was her mother, for many years, and was a Baptist.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Amy Eva Hicks; husband, Billy Joe Woods; brothers, Monroe Hicks, George Hicks, and Alfred Hicks; sisters, Ilva Rice and Alice Holmes. Ruth is survived by her adopted children, Mark and Sue Gates; grandson, Stefan Furman; niece, Charlotte Everett and husband Bill; great-nephews, Phillip and Joe; and great-niece Deborah.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, 2025 in the Ryan Cemetery at 12pm with Bro Carl Williamson officiating. Arrangements handled under the trusted care of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
