Obituary for Sammie Lee Weible
Sammie Lee Weible, age 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 25, 2025, in Dayton, Texas. Born on July 30, 1961, in Crockett, Texas, Sammie was the beloved daughter of the late Leland Wars and Nora Powell.
Sammie spent the last six years in the Dayton/Anahuac area, having previously lived in Trinity, Texas. A woman of deep faith, she raised her children in the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church and, in later years, enjoyed worshiping through her favorite online church in Tennessee.
Sammie had a love for life that was as vibrant as the flowers in her garden. She found joy in growing vegetables and flowers, capturing life’s little moments in the thousands of pictures on her phone, and discovering new crafts—especially hand embroidery. Her creativity and curiosity were matched only by her humor and warmth. Whether shopping online, connecting with others on social media (where she proudly dubbed herself an influencer), or simply chatting with someone new, Sammie never met a stranger.
The beach held a special place in her heart—it was her happy place. At home, her loyal dog Shiloh never left her side, and her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.
Sammie is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Daniel Ray Wars. She is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years, Paul Weible; her children: Joseph Thompson, Jonathan Thompson, Justin Thompson, and Crystal Taylor and husband Richard; her sisters: Laura Wade, Patricia Curtis, and Sheryl Ellis; brother, J.R. Walters and her cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Jacob, Caleb, Eriana, Adelynn, Landon, and Jaci'Lynn.
Sammie’s love, laughter, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the memories she made and the lives she touched.
