Obituary

Sandra Kay "Sandy" Gardner, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed June 7, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born on February 8, 1952, in Houston, Texas, to Jack Lee Clark and Joy Jane Carruth.

Sandy lived a life defined by faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She touched countless lives with her warm heart, encouraging spirit, and ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

Everyone knew her simply as Grandma Sandy. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcomed, cherished, and important. Whether family, friend, or stranger, Sandy's loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

In her younger years, Sandy enjoyed crafting and tending to her gardens. She appreciated the beauty in simple things and was always eager to learn or experience something new. She was a true foodie who loved sharing meals, trying new foods, and enjoying life's many flavors.

Of all her hobbies, nothing brought Sandy more happiness than fishing. If there was a chance to be near the water with a fishing pole in hand, she was ready to go. Some of her most treasured moments were spent fishing and enjoying God's creation.

Her great-grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart. She adored spending time with them, remembered every detail about their lives, and was always their biggest supporter and protector. She made sure they knew they were deeply loved and always had someone in their corner.

Sandy had an extraordinary ability to find light in difficult situations. She always looked for the good, offered words of encouragement, and helped others see hope when they needed it most. Her kindness, compassion, and positive spirit were gifts she freely shared with everyone around her.

Above all, Sandy loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through every joy and challenge. She faithfully attended church and treasured her church family, who brought her friendship, fellowship, and encouragement throughout the years.

Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Joy Jane Carruth; her father, Jack Lee Clark; her sister, Kathryn Davis; and her beloved grandson, Cole Lee Luckey.

She is survived by her stepfather, Joe Ybarra; her sons, Thomas Luckey and wife Betty Jo, and Steven Ray Luckey; her grandchildren, Travis Enloe, Corey Luckey and wife Ashley, Bradley Hudson and wife Kimberly, Bradley Luckey and wife Reina, Cameron Luckey and wife Sarah, and Natalie Asfour and husband Randall; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Tanner, Stetson, Jasper, Elliott, Beaux, and Briar Jean.

Though her family and friends will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in knowing that her legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Sandy's life was a beautiful example of unconditional love, and her memory will forever be cherished.
