Sandra Tovar Garza, 45, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on August 4, 2026. She was born on January 31, 1981, in Matamoros, Mexico, to Arcadio Tovar and Rosa Espinosa Tovar.
Sandra was a devoted Christian whose faith was at the center of her life. She was a faithful and active member of Casa De Vida Church in Dayton, where she served as a lead singer and women’s coordinator. Sandra had a beautiful voice and loved using her gift to worship the Lord. Her dedication to her church was evident in the countless hours she spent serving, often being there five days out of the week. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about; it was something she lived each day through her love, service, and devotion to others.
Sandra had a joyful spirit that was impossible to miss. She could light up any room she entered with her beautiful smile and her unforgettable, contagious laugh. Her laughter had a way of making everyone around her laugh along with her, and her warm personality brought happiness to so many people throughout her life.
Above all, Sandra loved her family deeply. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was found in the people she loved. She shared 30 years of marriage with the love of her life, Hugo, building a life and family together filled with love, faith, and cherished memories. Sandra treasured her children and grandchildren and took great pride in each of them.
Sandra had made Dayton her home since 2001 and became a beloved part of both her church and community. She will be remembered for her strong faith, beautiful voice, radiant smile, contagious laughter, and the genuine love she showed to her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Sandra was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Espinosa Tovar.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Hugo Garza; her father, Arcadio Tovar; her children, Hugo Garza Jr. and wife Lucero, Aidde Garza and husband Christopher Deleon, Daniel Garza and fiancée Alondra, Esther Garza, and Kimberly Garza; her siblings, Rosalina Tovar and Jose Tovar; and her grandchildren, Angie, Andrea, Oziel, Sebastian, Julieta, Dominique, and Joyce. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members, church family, and friends who will deeply miss her.
A visitation for Sandra will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
