Obituary

Sarah ‘Diana’ Smith Keen, at age 72, entered into her eternal home to be with our Lord Jesus on January 4th, 2026.
She was the fifth of six children, born on September 11th, 1953 in Jacinto City, TX to Jack and Alice Smith.
As a teenager, her family re-located to the Shepherd area, which is where she met her lifelong best friend and husband, Johnnie Keen Jr. They were married on September 10th, 1973 and raised their four children within their family community in Splendora, TX.
She loved the Lord and often referenced Psalm 91 as her favorite. She loved her church, her family and friends. She always had a warm, welcoming hug and a contagious laugh. Her family and friends always appreciated her quilting skills when receiving a gift produced from the fruits of her labors. She was deeply committed to all those she deeply loved.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Jack and Alice Smith, her sister Linda Schauer, brother Jody Smith and two nephews, Dwayne Fry and Rodney Fry.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Keen Jr. of Splendora, TX; daughter Christina (Manuel) Castaneda of Violet Hill, Arkansas, daughter Pamela ‘Jeannie’ Minshew of Magnolia, TX; son David (Melissa) Keen Sr. of New Caney, TX and son Bryan (Ashlea) Keen of Splendora, TX; fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
