Serella May Cooper Thompson, 70, of Dayton, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Houston National Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Serella was born July 17, 1943 in Houston, to parents; Odis E. and Oza May Jacobs Cooper, a former resident of LaPorte, and has resided in Dayton for the past 18 years. She was a graduate of the Galena Park High School, attended the University of Houston, and was a member of the Open Bible Fellowship. She also enjoyed music, playing the piano, sewing, and gardening. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her father: Odis Everett Cooper, mother: Oza May Jacobs Cooper, husband of 42 years: Michael Dee Thompson, and daughter: Tisha Chantelle Thompson. She is survived by her daughters: Guenitta Tangie Harclerode and husband Louis of Dayton and Seeley Ginger Harris and husband Buddy of Baytown, grandchildren: Autumn Amber Curtis, Michael Joseph Harclerode and wife Hannah, Coy Everett Harclerode, Kaella Chantelle Harris, and Rayna Lynnay Harris, great-grandchildren: Morgan Howard Curtis and Haylie Vane Taylor Curtis, and numerous other relatives, and friends.
