Shelby "Gma" Jean James Paige

Shelby "Gma" Jean James Paige, a beloved member of the community, passed away on July 2, 2024, in Kingwood, Texas. She was born on March 1, 1939, in Anderson, South Carolina.

 Shelby dedicated her life to caring for others as a retired nurses aide. Her compassion and warmth touched the lives of many throughout her career. She was known for her kind heart and selfless nature.

 She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Shelby resided in Dayton for the past 5 years and previously called Crosby home for 20 years. She was a proud member of First Baptist Church in Dayton and had previously been an active member of First Baptist Church in Crosby.

 Shelby is reunited in heaven with her parents Frank James and Kathryn Gettsinger James, her husband David Ray Paige, and her son John Michael Thomason. She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members: children Jimmy Thomason and his wife Tina, Julia Wisniewski and her husband Boyd, Joy Johnston and her husband Phillip; grandchildren Shelby Coleman and her husband Brendan, Katrena Johnston and her fiancé Megan Wolsey, Daniel Wisniewski, Tanner Thomason, Jared Thomason and his wife Mandy, Shona Thomason; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

 A Graveside Service will be held on July 5th, 10:00 a.m., at Houston National Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life event on July 6th, 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Dayton to honor and remember Shelby's life.

 Shelby "Gma" Jean James Paige will forever be remembered for her loving spirit, unwavering faith, and the countless lives she touched along the way. May she rest in peace knowing she made this world a better place through her kindness and dedication.
