Shirley Marie Johnson Foster was born in Pitkin, Louisiana on July 14, 1937 to parents, Archie Johnson and Addie Johnson. She entered Heaven’s Gates on June 24, 2026 at the age of 88. Shirley had been a bookkeeper at Central Baptist Church for over 30 years. Her love for God was passed down to her daughters and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud to provide a warm and loving home for her husband Robert and their two girls. Shirley will be greatly missed by her family, church family, and everyone that loved her. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Archie and Addie Johnson, beloved husband, Robert Foster, beloved daughter, Sharron Rosann Foster. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Shaun Jarvis and husband David Jarvis; brother, Sonny Johnson and wife Susie; sisters, Lynda Martin and husband Robert, and Carla Jernigen and husband Gerald; grandchildren, Shane Guimbellot, John Robert Childress and wife Tasha, and Deven Smith and fiancé Brianna; great-grandchildren, Blane Childress and Braylin Childress. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 12-1pm at the Central Baptist Church. Funeral Service will begin at 1pm with Pastor Tad Traylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Wells Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be, David Jarvis, Shane Guimbellot, John Robert Childress, Deven Smith, Roy Martin, Michael Martin, Kevin Johnson, and Blane Childress. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church or Wells Cemetery. These gifts will serve as a meaningful tribute and help honor the life and legacy of Shirley.
