Sydney “Buddy” Hollie was born May 16, 1946 in DeQuincy, Louisiana to parents, Delbert Hollie and Lurlene Drake Hollie. He entered Heaven’s Gates on August 26, 2026 at the age of 80. Buddy proudly served our country in the US Army from 1966-1967. He worked hard all his life to provide a warm and loving home for his wife and children. Buddy was mostly known for doing construction work but he also was a truck driver for many years. Buddy had a love for God that he passed down to his entire family. His family brought him much joy in his life, and he will be forever grateful for all the memories they shared. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Lurlene Hollie; brothers, Carol Dewayne Hollie and Charles “Pug” Hollie; sisters, Bonnie Hollie and Wilma Browning. Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Janie Hollie; daughters, Timothie Lewis and husband Chris, and Debbie Jo Hollie; son, James Hollie; grandchildren, Cody Hollie, Kody Johnson, Peyton Robison, Camryn Robison, Carson Robison, Brittany Aldridge, LeAnn Elliott, Zane Lewis and wife Kayla, Corey Lewis and wife Grason; great-grandchildren, Drayden Lewis, Mave Lewis, Laif Lewis, Conlee Lewis; sister, Suzie Adkison; brother, Keith Hollie and wife Vickey; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 2-5pm. Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026 at 10am in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kevin Howard and Pastor Greg Gerald officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be, James Hollie, Cody Hollie, Kody Johnson, Carson Robison, Ricky Adkison, and James Baloy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Lewis and Drayden Johnson.
