Velta Lou Vance was born in Bryan, Texas on August 17, 1956 to parents, Homer Lee Fox and Inez Glass Fox. She passed away October 2, 2025 in Coldspring, Texas at the age of 69. She owned and operated Velta’s Cut and Curl in Coldspring for over 20 years and also owned the Blue Light Seafood Diner, also in Coldspring. Velta was an avid fisherman and loved fishing on the Trinity River. She was known as the Cool Mom and all her daughters friends loved coming over and hanging out. Her greatest love was for her family, and she was the worlds best NANA. Velta will be greatly missed by her family and the Coldspring community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Inez Fox; sister, Alva Dillard. Velta is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Edward Vance; beloved daughter, Victoria Moake and husband Joseph; beloved son, Wilbert Vance; brothers, Jerry Snook and wife Connie, Roy Lee Fox, Kenny Lee Fox and wife Crystal, and Robert Lee Fox; sisters, Leora Fruge, and Amanda Helka and husband David; grandchildren, Dara Hileman and husband Thomas, Cheyenne White, Sierra White, and Megan Vance; great-grandchildren, Avery McBee and Anna Holmon. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 1-2pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring. Funeral Service will begin at 2pm with Bro. Carl Williamson officiating.
